When Apricot started writing for Hubpages back in 2009 she led a very different life to the one she leads today. For, back then, she was a normal householder living in well-to-do town in Italy with her pet rabbit 'Apricot' and today she lives in the poorest area of West Bengal, India where she lives with the socio-spiritual organisation to which she belongs and where she spends most of her time doing 'Kiirtan' (the Universal Mantra sang for all round upliftment of humanity) around the dusty villages of Rarh, the most ancient area of the earth, also known as the 'cradle of civilisation'. What happened? She took her first lesson in meditation with her organisation in February 2010 and from that day forward was pulled irresistably in a new direction, a direction that had always appealed to her on a hidden level but on her beginning spiritual practices surfaced with such force that, in the space of less than a year, she left her comfortable life in Italy to go out to live in India. Today she is, in many ways, very much the same person as before because she still gets into all sorts of trouble and adventures where she is, however she no longer has the comforts and commodities of the west to fall back on. Nonetheless she never regrets leaving the west for she loves her India. She also loves her England. And she loves her Italy too because that ’ s where she got initiation onto her spiritual path.In fact she, she loves lots of things but naturally she dislikes lots of things too for the whole spectrum of pleasant and unpleasant exists in the universe around and within her own self and besides, she doesn't live in fairyland. Most of all she loves her Guru, the One for whom she has come to this earth and her reason behind every word she writes. Her Guru is God. Of course, everyone's Guru is God to them but somehow, her Guru is different from the rest. He's all hers. Her mini biography might make her sound like a religious fanatic but in fact, she ’ s not religious at all. She is, however, a fanatic about bringing about the New Dawn – the spiritual age when heaven will be established on this dusty earth. Seeing the suffering and humiliation of humanity is very hard to bear, not just for her, for everyone on this earth; probably because it is our own suffering and humiliation that we are seeing projected outside, for as she said before, it's all within ourselves. Therefore, she believes that living in a world that reflects the true Greatness of human beings and all creatures is no wistful dream but will one day become a reality. And soon.

I'm Apricot, and I'm new here. Some friends found me in a tree (literally) and thought it would be good if I met some more people. I'm little - think big dog sized, but with wings. But my wings aren't meant for flying long distances. I use them to glide and flap my way from tree to tree. And I'm sure you could guess my colors from my name! Oranges, yellows, and I have pinkish red freckles on my cheeks and sides. My eyes are big and blue. My tail is small and not very thick, unlike most of the other dragons I see around here. Mine curls around branches to keep me from falling. My horns are kind of small and girly and I hates them because I wish they were bigger. >.> My earfins are practically bigger than my horns! So that's what I look like. I'm young and kind of a fruitivore and I try and stay away from males! At least that's how I was raised, but I'm on my own now. ^.^
