It's my first novel !!! :D When I was maybe five or six years old, my mother was a member of a bowling league. She would take me there. I would pack a bag of stuff to do while she bowled. The bowling alley had a really nice video arcade and I was exposed to many of the first video games there. I fell in love with them. I didn't know it back then, but I immediately became a video game junkie. How does this relate to board games you may ask ? Read on.... Of course, getting quarters out of Mom was like trying to pull teeth. I was lucky to get two dollars that would last me about five minutes worth of gaming. I NEEDED that video game fix ! So, what I did, was I brought a pad of construction paper with me, scissors, tape, and some colored pens and pencils. I studied EVERY last detail of those video games and then worked dilligently to recreate them as home made board games. I sometimes worked interesting mechanics into those games as well. I remember that I did a board game of the video game Berzerk where one player ran around a large complex maze of a board (The board was all tiles so you could change the whole maze around) being chase by another player controlling a bunch of robots. In order to shoot the robots, I made cardboard bowling alley with cardboard figures that stood up at the end. One of the figures in the target area was the player's own character, and the others were robots. I had some kind of mechanic for randomly selecting targets for the little bowling lane. You had to roll a metal ball down the lane and hit a figure and flip it over (Where it displayed a clever drawing of a robot blowing up or in the case of the human.... the human lying in a pool of blood). Yeah, it was simple.. but I made it. I made board game versions of Space Invaders, Berzerk, Galaxian, and even a card driven pro wrestling board game that would still be fun to play today probably (With a few tweaks). In the mid 80's I discoverd Dungeons & Dragons which took over my life. Though TSR, I discovered my first proto-wargame, The Awful Green Things From Outer Space. I had a complete blast with that game. I even used to write short stories telling the story of what happened in the game as it happened. Eventually, I began looking for something more... My first true wargame was Jerusalem by Mayfair Games. I loved that game. I loved the history it represented, and the game was damn fun to play. Soon... I discovered Avalon Hill and fell in love with that company. The other game company I fell in love with (Still love to this day) was Steve Jackson Games. I devoured pretty much every board game that company put out. Car Wars became an ADDICTION and was huge among me and my friends. The same for Ogre as well. 20+ years later and I now have a huge walk in closet... one side, floor to cieling role playing game books (Some pretty obscure), and the other side, floor to cieling board games of the more complicated sort, and war games. I have recently fallen in love with naval wargames. I LOVE Harpoon4, Fear God and Dread Nought, and Command at Sea, even though I'll never get those games to the table. I've learned more about naval warfare from reading those books than from all the history books I've read. Unfortunately, all these games collect dust now due to the fact that I have a completely non-gameing wife (Literally. She won't play ANY games at ALL !), family, and friends at the moment who take one look at any of my games and run the other way. But I know I'm not alone in this respect. There are plenty others here that I've seen in my same predicamant so I feel like I'm in good company. Oh yeah. And Eurogames bore the snot out of me.

A: Because I still enjoy drawing, and I have a very encouraging boyfriend who loves me even when the internet doesn't. Q: Do you take commissions? A: Hell no. Q: Request? How about those? A: Probably not, but who knows? I draw for friends, or when I'm feeling inspired.
