I'm a primary school teacher, I teach 5 year olds plus have three children and a husband whom all keep themselves and me very busy! We are all involved in Theatre, dramatics arts, committees and normal family stuff - sports etc. Reading is saved for a very late at night activity! Happy Reading!

I have been working in software development for approximately 10 years. I enjoy the fast paced environment and learning the new technology as it evolves. Most of my experience has been in client\server based software application development, and working mainly in integrations with third parties. It's been very challenging but also exciting. I feel that the work experience I have aquired is very versatile and feel that doing freelance work will allow me to access new areas such as web design and development. I have aquired very good knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, as well as development skills in C++, C#, XML and XSLT. I look forward to new projects and challenges. Work History Software Engineer Genetec Inc., St. Laurent 01/2008 – 12/2008 Genetec develops video surveillance and security access card software, as well as license plate recognition software. As a member of the plugins team, responsible for integration of the Omnicast video surveillance software with external security products and I participated in the development of two different integration projects. I was then recruited to the SWIT team (software integration and testing team), to help identify and start writing automated tests for the Omnicast product. Development of two C# plugins, to integrate the software’s video surveillance feature to security applications. Documented the installation and configuration details for the plugins as well as known issues and troubleshooting tips. (Lenel Alarms and MicroPoint) Manual testing of the product for a major release. Wrote unit tests using the product’s SDK to be automated after builds. Wrote Team Foundation Server build scripts and Final Builder project scripts for product branches that were being ported from Perforce. Maintained and added support for Team Foundation Server to the in-house continuous integration server. Troubleshooting and debugging of installation issues with the QA teams and sales engineering for demos to potential customers. Team Leader Ortivus North America, Laval 08/2002 – 12/2007 The company develops a computer aided dispatching software for ambulances and police departments. The product was very versatile and allowed for integration with external dispatcher software, vehicle location software, and record management systems. I was the team lead for the integration team, a group of three developers responsible for the development of interfaces to integrate with the external suppliers. Identified the system and hardware requirements and documented the proposed solutions. Wrote the functional requirements for the CPIC interface feature and other integration projects. Programmed a simulator in C# to test the CPIC functionality in house, the simulator allowed the testing of all the CPIC certification tests. Reviewed design documents for new features and interfaces being added to the communications gateway for integration with third parties. Provided on-site and remote support to customers to trouble-shoot issues with the product. Documented user guides for the installation and configuration of interfaces for the new interfaces. Installed and configured the Websphere server as well as the company’s application servers for testing and development of interfaces as well as helping customers with configuration and maintenance of their servers. Software Designer Marconi Communications, Montreal 01/2001 - 06/2002 Marconi Communications developed optical networking hardware and software. I was a senior developer assigned tasks to add features to the telecom gateway server that managed the communication with the network nodes as well as network topology discovery. Participated in the development of optical network management software, particularly the Telnet Gateway Server responsible for the communication between the optical network nodes and the management software. Documented and designed the changes necessary to implement the new discovery features for the MAS and SMA topology discovery features using Rational Rose. Programmed new discovery features in C++ for MAS and SMA topology. Helped in the planning of the unit tests to be run by the QA team. Software Designer Eicon Networks, Montreal 02/1996 - 01/2001 Eicon Networks developed networking products as well as an emulation software. As one of the developers in the communications team, I helped develop communications modules for integration with Microsoft’s SNA Server, IBM’s CSNT and other products. Development of 5250 emulation feature in java for a web based 3270\5250 emulation software. Debugged and added features to the TN3270 and TN5250 driver interfaces for the Aviva for java product as well as the Aviva for Windows in C++. On site support and debugging of the SNA gateway for 32-bit environments and the AVIVA emulation software (java and windows environments).
