Doused is a four piece heavy rock band from Rotherham, South Yorkshire in the UK. Taking influence from such bands as Skindred, One Minute Silence, Korn and Tool (amongst many others), we believe we have found a sound, a feel and a groove to our music that makes us sound pretty unique among our peers. We never set out to be that way (we actually started out as a grungey three piece acoustic cover act) but Doused has just developed naturally of its own accord into the bouncing, crunching groove monster it is today. If you want to read the whole history of our little band to date..... Here you go: It was July of 2008 when the three brothers of Lee, Gary and Joe Usher decided to get together and play some music. It seemed like the logical thing to do. Both Lee and Gary had played in bands since their early teens (Roadside in December/Boycott Jeffrey and El Noss respectively) and they both yearned for the chance to get back on the stage after a couple of years out of the musical loop. It just so happened at this time that Joe had taken it upon himself to learn bass guitar, and as soon as this became knowledge to the two older brothers the inevitable wheels were set in motion. Six months of regular acoustic rehearsals later and the three brothers decided they were ready to take their little set of acoustic covers into the public eye, and for this a name would be required. After much brainstorming and exchanging of stupid ideas it fell bizarrely to Sarah, Lee's long suffering fiancee, to randomly suggest "Doused" during a freezing cold bus ride in early January '09. Although it was said half in jest, the second she had suggested it Lee was sold. Less than two hours later (via the marvel of the modern text message) so were Gary and Joe. Doused, in its original acoustic form, was born! The boys quickly decided that acoustic simply wasn't loud enough!! They wanted to make some noise and make Doused a REAL band and (after going through a couple of early drummers that just didn't quite fit) finally found their stickman in Jamie "Dodge" Simpson. Dodge cornered Lee in the little boys room one night at a family function during a spell where the new Doused were stuck without a drummer. He uttered the words "I've got a PA and a place we can rehearse" and the rest is history. Dodge became the fourth brother and the guys have been inseperable ever since. After hitting the studio for the first time in March 2011 the Doused with the Uncontained EP, the Doused train finally started rolling! The Nebula EP followed finally in 2013 and garnered the boys much acclaim, with their live presence growing with every show, amassing an army of faithful "Dousedmonkeys" on the way. With their local scene now truly conquered, keep your eyes peeled for new material and Doused rocking the house at a venue near you!
