Lover of Film Noir, Thrillers (especially Psychological), The Golden Age/Old Hollywood, Independent, Foreign, Independent Foreign Films, & the grandest of them all: Women-Centric Films (by & about women). I have great respect for the legendary writers/directors; Orson Welles and Billy Wilder, a profound and genuine love for The Trinity of Acting; Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, & Marion Cotillard, and lastly, a massive reverence for both Bette Davis & the inexplicably elegant, articulate, beautiful, gifted genius (one of two Great C/Kates)- Cate Blanchett. The other Great being Kate Winslet, of course. Favorite Directors: Chantal Akerman. Andrea Arnold. Joel & Ethan Coen. Todd Haynes. Alfred Hitchcock. *In due veneration of this shamefully under appreciated, brilliant, could not have done it without her, partner in film crime- Alma Reville. She was a fierce, fearless, and valued voice in the world of Hitchcock. Her genius is an undeniable parallel to The Master of Suspense. Reville's recognition is long and painfully overdue. So here's to you Alma Reville. Thank you for aiding in the creation of some of the greatest films ever made. **Here's to the future inclusion of gender parity in filmmaking (and everything really): Films made by women, about women, for everyone!
