if you were subscribed to me 4 years ago, i didn't delete you i deleted my entire account, twice.influenced by:Gridlock,yelworC,Mentallo&TheFixer,&#13; Synapscape,PneumaticDetach,Converter&#13; &#13; <b><i>2003-2004 ~ 2009-2011</i></b>&#13; <b>untrained hobbyist musician</b> (I use this term lightly, as I don't know music theory and never spent exorbitant amounts of money trying to learn how to use any of the software I own). I have a strict 3 hour time limit for making songs, never go beyond it and I usually end up wrapping up a song around the 2 and a half hour mark (mixing and mastering is included in this time limit). Setting limits for yourself when you're making any type of art is a really good idea because it encourages you to be creative with what you have, and learn use those limits to your advantage. plus I feel music is more evocative this way. I was reading an interview with some big name director and he felt the same way I do, that limits encourage artistic creativity.&#13; &#13; &#13; many more songs are available at <a href="http://versionfiv.com/exeter" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">versionfiv.com/exeter</a>.&#13; &#13; &#13; <b>HISTORY</b>:&#13; &#13; I began making mp3s in Fruity Loops for a few months in 2002 and 2003, uploaded them to <a href="http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?AID=143006&T=6907" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">acidplanet.com</a> (they're still there). Gave up on it after finishing maybe five songs that I was happy with (and buying a novation k-station which was in "storage" by mid 2004) .From 2003 to 2008 I focused my energies on computer graphics instead, making abstract desktop images and photo manipulations (available at <a href="http://ww.versionfiv.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.versionfiv.com</a>.&#13; In 2008 I contributed to the HOINH compilation, a mockery/tribute of both someone named Fluid and a similar themed previous compilation. this rekindled my passion for making music, even though everything surrounding HOINH is ridiculous (we were told to make intentionally terrible songs, and it was made to mock someone who always said crazy stuff). my contribution was the first track, Total Hoinh, on the album Wyoming. &#13; In June 2009 I decided to start making music again because I wanted to see what I would turn out.what turned out was a song called Scattered Disc, made with Fruity Loops (just FL, no external VSTs). I made 3 versions of that song, and settled on "Scattered Disc (Resonant)" which you can<a href="http://versionfiv.com/exeter" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">download here</a>. I made a dozen other songs that year and uploaded some to <a href="http://last.fm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">last.fm</a>, soundcloud, and my website.Most of these songs were rough powernoise.I think the powernoise songs all turned out badly because I didn't have any mixing or mastering knowledge (and still don't).At the time I was focusing on building my skill at arranging tracks, more so than working on how the song sounded.Also, I had the idea that I was following "black metal" style production value.of course, this was just an excuse for laziness and poor <a href="http://skill.in" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">skill.in</a> total, 2009 turned out 8 songs (one a re-arrangement of a 2003 track made by Crush Depth called "From Rip To Shred") which I compiled with a few songs I made in 2003 and 2004 as <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Exeter/Debris+Disk" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Debris Disk</a>. &#13; From fall into winter 2009-2010, I was making music nearly every week.I completed a total of 10 songs from January to November in 2010 (along with dozens of lesser quality experiments still on my hard drive).The first songs that I made in 2010 were "The 97th Step" and "The Walking Bed", both industrial powernoise. "The 97th Step" was a tribute to both the Matador military science fiction novels and Converter, because I had been listening to "Coma" frequently.After these two songs, I felt comfortable enough to start making IDM again, and I did with Desparecidos, When Will This Night End, Stopat, & Rain.Ieven mixed in some wall-of-sound noise with the IDM with Varelse which I hadn't tried since my first-ever experiment with making music, <a href="http://versionfiv.com/exeter" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">"Not Human"</a>. (I made that one in 2002 by turning loops on and off live in fruity loops, without sequencing. truly avant garde professional stuff).&#13; During october 2010, I tried, for me, interesting and innovative, ways to record, sequence, and apply effects with the songs Crocodilian and Rain.&#13; It's 2011 now, and I've made a couple of songs, although not as many as I'd like.Almost zero inspiration for music right now, but I might start making wallpapers again. There are maybe 5 half-finished songs on my hard drive but can't seem to find it in me to finish them.&#13; <b>EQUIP USED:</b> Novation K-Station, FL Studio 9XXL Producer Edition, Native Instruments Absynth, Battery, and Reaktor, Pro53 VST, & Predator VST)&#13; this page, made in July 2011, is the third time i've made a soundcloud page as Exeter ... I made a page in December 2009, deleted it in January 2011 cause I didn't feel very good.Then I made a new one towards the end of February, and deleted that one a few months after for similar reasons. &#13; &#13; &#13;
