My Funny Collection

I am self taught in all aspects of computing with both Apple Macintosh and Windows. I have been a director of a management consultancy business, as well as working as a designer/typesetter in an industrial pre-press and printing works. I have worked with, processed or created artwork and literature using all the major software packages in hundreds of different formats for companies ranging from family run businesses to blue chip multinationals. I also create spreadsheets, accounts, databases and do photo montages and reconstruction. I provide full training in the major software packages and operating systems. I specify and install computer systems and networking. I am telephone system literate and can specify, order and project manage complete telephone systems for small or large companies. I have been involved in such work since 1988. I am currently working with a client to create the largest outdoor supplies website in Europe, as well as creating all the company literature and marketing material. I have my own dedicated server for hosting unlimited websites for my clients and provide full E-commerce capability. Acorn Services http:// I was a design director for this company and provided a wide range of services to local businesses. The services the business provided were: Design, DTP, Photo Manipulation, Scanning, Print, Colour and Mono Copying, Binding, Stationary Supplies, Management Consultancy, Marketing and more. I was involved in all services that the company provided to its clients. Crawley Industrial Press http:// I was employed by the company as a Macintosh Operator. During this time, I created a large amount of work from concept through to pre-press for a wide range of blue-chip companies. These companies included BAA, Virgin Holidays, Swarovski, Asahi Diamond, British Telecom and the UK Government. I also created artwork for the print house, as well as marketing animations in 3D and streamlined a number of processes. I specified I.T. upgrades for the design studio, and also instigated and completed a project to archive and quickly recover data from stored optical media. The archives included over 2 million artwork files on hundreds of different optical disks that could be searched on any computer in seconds and then found in the archive racks. The process used to take over an hour to find a clients' file and reload it on to the active systems. When I was finished, the process took no more than 5 minutes per job. Virgin Holidays http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/ I was employed by the industrial print house that was contracted to provide the company literature to Virgin Holidays in the 1990's. I designed and created a large amount of literature for Virgin during my time employed there. The work included designing all the navigation maps of the US that Virgin Holidays customers use during their trip, as well as the guidebook. I did the work from the conceptual design and discussions stages, through to the actual scanning, design and pre-press work. The Outdoorsman http://www.outdoorsman.co.uk The Outdoorsman is a well established business with over 25 years trading under its belt. It is a family run business and until I was contracted in 2004, had one telephone line, no computers and one full time employee in addition to the proprietor. Since I have been contracted, the business has gone limited, employs 3 full time and 1 part time employee as well has having two directors. Turnover and profits have more than doubled. The company now has two computers, 6 telephone lines (two of which provide free calls to Europe, the US and the UK 24 hours per day), a fax line, high speed broadband and a bespoke telephone system that the company owns outright and controls from one of the computers. The company has the biggest outdoor supplies website in the UK (they didn't have one at all 2 years ago) and due to the massive marketing campaign I have instigated and run (with full page, full colour, targeted adverts in 15 nationwide publications) as well as a large number of website links and search engines, they are fast becoming a household name amongst not only their customers, but competitors too. I was and am responsible for the entire change of structure of the company, the marketing, the website and also the I.T. installation and management. This is a continuing project as I have much more work to do. My goal is to provide the company with the worlds largest outdoor supplies website and provide consultancy and support as the business grows further. Testimonials:
