It used to be Vaxei but then I found out about this guy and I was blown away. His DTHR scores are simply incredible. His reading, control and speed have put me in awe. I found out about him when he choked Happil DTHR and got 600pp, skipping 400 and 500pp. I was shocked. I couldn't believe it. I talked to him in a voice chat once as a 15k rank and I saw his name and I thought of him as a celebrity. I said to him "are you the actual matrix" and he said "yeah" and I said "wow". I didn't speak to him much after that and he just spoke to other people. Eventually he left and I didn't see much of him for a while. A few months passed and I ran into him again and started seeing all these crazy scores from him. I began to fanboy hard, inspired by his insane plays. I started playing a lot of DTHRNF to try be like him but alas, I was not even close to his control, speed, stamina or accuracy. He has heavily inspired me to play DTHR and is a huge inspiration to me overall. I aspire to be like him as a player and hopefully become as proficient on DTHR as he is. The days leading up to his happil FC I started fanboying hard over his plays and then he FC'd it and I was really excited. I was telling people about it, hoping to get him some recognition. I fanboy a bit too much but in my defense some of his scores are just way ahead of anyone else. Matrix if you read this, thank you for being so good at the game and inspiring me a lot. Also sorry for acting so retarded whenever I talk to you or see your scores. Vaxei Arguably the most versatile player in the game. His ability to play from EZ to ar11 is just incredible and it really makes me want to master all aspects of the game. In my eyes he is the avatar of osu! He also had a REALLY fast singletap ability that inspired me a lot to train my singletap, I'm not even close to his speed but I still practice my singletap because of him and I hope to one day singletap as fast as he was able to. Rafis: Rafis is crazy fast when it comes to DT, setting scores that some players can't even come close to. He's also quite fast and capable of crazy plays on HR and nomod too. I've looked up to him ever since I was baby user since he is one of the most well known players that even 6 digit version of me could see. Cookiezi: This doesn't really need an explanation but i'll give one anyway. Shige is also really good at a lot of aspects of the game. From fast DT plays on old maps to high BPM stream map plays like ice angel 240bpm version. His ability to do streams and spaced streams alike has heavily inspired me to try hidden a lot more and play stream maps with them. His score on Blankfield - Goodbye is my 2nd favourite score from him (next to FDFD). Its filled with 258bpm streams and bursts and the fact that he had a 2300x run on it just shows how capable he is in speed and stamina. MBmasher: A fellow Australian who is really good at FL but also other mod combinations including EZ, hes one of the first FL players I discovered and he's set some crazy scores like his CBCC 4mod ss and his oddloop EZ ss. He even has a HDFL 1 miss on top diff of Black Rover, showing how crazy his memory is. Gayzmcgee: No surprise he is on my respect player list. Gayz is the first speed player I heard of. A lot of speed players typically go unnoticed but Gayz has made a lot of noise in the osu! community showcasing his crazy speed, stamina and accuracy that even high 5 digits have seen. One of the first videos I saw of him was his DMC DT ss liveplay. When I first saw it I was instantly inspired to have that ability to beat the shit out of my keyboard as fast as possible. Although hes pretty inactive now, he is certainly one of my favourite players ever. TheKushVanMan: Kush is another very fast player but hes more on this list because of the osugame discord. The first speed player who I have been able to interact with on discord and learn properly about the scores hes set and see some of the crazy things hes done through twitch clips, VODs and mainly through discord. RyuK: I've always liked RyuK ever since I first saw him play. I remember watching his highlights video on his channel where he climbed the rankings very quickly. He used to be pretty underrated and some would say hes pretty bad for his rank, I always liked him as a player although sometimes he does act pretty stupid (particularly on his twitter). Around mid 2018 he started to do a lot of crazy shit and I noticed he had gotten really good at speed and I remember watching him DT junpaku study time and getting a really good run on it. Hes one of the players I look up to the most due to his wide skillset and his crazy speed and DT aim. Hackroj: Hackroj is my osu dad. He may be low rank but his rank is definitely not showing his true abilites. His santa san +DT 3 miss is unreal, although it lacks accuracy, it is a play that no ordinary 5 digit can pull off. I've seen him set scores that some 3 digits cannot even do. One of the most underranked players and is very cute <3 Nidzomir: Nidzo is my osu mum. Nidzo has helped me a lot since I was a baby user. He's given me tips, provided me with maps that would help me rank up. I remember when he gave me rog-unlimitation to farm for my 2nd 200pp and I could not get accuracy for the life of me. I never got to farm it but a few months later I became able to FC it with 96.83% accuracy and I don't think I would have been motivated to play it if it wasn't for nidzomir. When I was a baby I thought to myself "i'm gonna pass nidzo in rank one day" and I did (although hes still better than me lole). He still teaches me things to this day and helps me to improve in different aspects of the game. Specifically HR. Thank you nidzo. My osu mum who has raised me since I was a little 5 digit. Lxyn: Another underranked and very cute 5 digit. Lxyn was what I would consider my "rival" when I was close to his rank. He would set high pp scores that would make me mad and would pass me in rank again. It really motivated me to play a lot to improve so I could kick his ass in rank. Eventually I passed him and he stopped trying to pass me. Now he just sits there at 16k, decaying while pulling off crazy passes on high SR maps. Unko: Unko is yet another player who has excelled in speed. I first found out about him when he uploaded his D.M.C DTHR fc and I was in awe. I remember when unko was freed and not long after he set a crazy 1x100 on D.M.C DT. Recently (as of writing this) he sliderbroke D.M.C DTHR with crazy good accuracy and it wouldve been 600pp. His plays on D.M.C and gayz's SS on it have motivated me a lot to play the map and to learn how to stream high bpm in general so one day I can be able to at least pass it. Zestiny:One of the fastest players in the game now. This year (2018) he has set a lot of incredible scores. His raw speed is inhuman and his accuracy on insanely high bpm maps is incredible. I look up to him and hope to one day achieve the speed he has. Ceptin: Ceptin is another incredibly fast player. I can't remember when I first heard about him but I've seen him #1 on leaderboards on maps that are incredibly fast with DT. His matzcore HDDT pass is astonishing and I cannot believe the monster was able to pass that shit. He also has other really cool scores like his HDDT passes on the 2 top diffs of kami no kotoba. Thinking Thinking is an incredible player with god tier acc on old maps and new alike. His HD skill is phenomenal and hes also incredible at streaming too. I really wish I could get as good acc and control as him. He is truly an amazing player with a really unique skillset that not many people recognize. idke: Idke is an incredibly good HR and nomod player. Setting crazy scores that most of us know, like his uta HR for 938pp. Or his ascension to heaven FC that he had dreamed of pulling off since 2016. He is also an incredibly consistent and patient player, setting insane scores like his painters of the tempest FC which is a 15 minute long high 6* map. When he was doing ror HR runs he managed to FC up until the hard spaced stream 6 times in a row before losing the streak. Idke has inspired me to play a lot more HR and practice it a lot to not only become great at HR but also really consistent. Skylewl: Another player I found out about as a baby user. I remember hackroj and nidzo wanted me to play in their tournament and my first match was up against skylewl. No surprise he kicked my ass into orbit. At the time it really demotivated me for some reason. I dont really know why since he was way higher rank than me. That being said he has still been more of a motivation than a demotivation. I remember seeing his crazy 3mod FCs on maps like bill nye and hitorigoto. I thought to myself "wow I want to do ar11 plays like him". I haven't done much with 3mod but usually when I do put those 3mods together I think of Skylewl and his play on bill nye (lol). Hes also good at HR and HDHR. Still setting really cool scores with those mods to this day. uyghti: I don't know if most players did this when they were new but when I first started off, apart from looking at who was number 1 on the global rankings, I also looked at who was number 1 on country rankings. This is when I saw uyghti, I didn't think much about it when I was a baby user as he was "only" rank 36 global. This year (2018) he has really popped off and set a lot of crazy scores. He gained over 1000pp in under a month and set some crazy scores. He still keeps climbing the ranks and setting crazy pp scores to this day and I hope he can reach top 10 one day. Dokidokilolixx: I've spoken to him a lot since I was a baby user. He was one of the first 3 digits I got to communicate with and talk to. As time went by he kept setting scores on farm maps with tapx and eventually made it to 2 digits. I thought it was really cool to be friends with someone who is 2 digit but I dont think of him like that. I think of him as a friend who is really good at the game and is able to set really fast scores with his high iq play style. Rustbell: Rustbell is a fucking monster. I love all of his plays as all of them are incredibly good and emit swag across the entire globe. His technical aim and ability to DT old maps with stupid patterns and hit them all accurately is jaw dropping. His play on big money takes the cake for my favourite play in the game. It's just so amazing and I don't think anyone will ever come close to it as it is leagues ahead of every other attempt on the map. Although he is mainly inactive now I have a lot of respect for him and appreciate all the plays he has made. DeadZoNeD: DeadZoNeD is someone who I have kinda considered another "rival'. But unlike Bencel, nidzomir, lxyn and other plays its not really a rank contest as he is way too high rank for me. I remember we went at each other on deal with the devil. I took number 1 and then posted it in chat and then he took it and I took it back and we kept doing that. At one point I got a really good combo run but then failed. It didnt matter anyway considering later on he just beat that "god run" easily and smacked me anyway. I see him on leaderboards a lot and he has some crazy scores that I can't come close to beating. Although I have been able to beat him on some maps, he whoops my ass for the most part. But it just motivates me to become better than him. takedown (MPA3b): Takedown is one of the nicest people ive met in the osu community. Hes also one of the best 5 digit acc players and the best one i know. His acc skill is incredible and hes capable of becoming an even better player. Takedown if you're reading this. Luv ya <3 Bencel: Bencel is another one of the "rivals". He was around 11k when I was 25k and this was around the time when he got his SS on the classic map "harebare fanfare". I was barely able to play it because I couldn't read ar9 dt very well. As I climbed up the rankings and improved he would tell me to play harebare, I played it with my newfound ability to read ar9 dt and I would do pretty bad on it even though the map is widely considered easy. Thus the stupid meme was born which tormented me for a long time. Time passed and I nearly was at 4 digits. Bencel had shot up the rankings and went to a rank far higher than mine. I got to 4 digits and he told me he would stop farming when I passed him. A few weeks passed and I eventually got to his rank and passed him. Victory was mine. I had beaten yet another one of these "rivals". Then he passed me again and I suck so theres not much I can do.
