I was raised a board gamer, but fell in love with video games. Long story short, that addiction (and others) almost cost me my marriage. So with the support of my family I found board games again because they give me opportunity to spend time with them in something engaging, entertaining, sometimes educational, and fun. Our favorite designer is Antoine Bauza. I have two autistic children who game with me. They like co-ops, abstracts, and games that are not cutthroat or feature a lot of attacking (King of Tokyo being an exception). My youngest is a huge Marvel fan so my collection is filled with many games that simply fit that theme. Current favorites are Hogwarts Battle, Love Letter, the One Night series, and Marvel Champions. My wife loves and plays Dominion (she usually wins), Pandemic: The Cure, and some of our family style games like Zooloretto, Takenoko, or Carcassonne, but nothing much deeper than that. My tastes vary from fun light fillers to War of the Ring (my personal favorite). My most played games are Agricola and Roll for the Galaxy. I am also a bit of a completionist so I do like to own every expansion/promo for the games that I have (though I think I am just about done with X-Wing, and the Carassonne expansions don't really appeal too much to me for some reason).
