I enjoy the grand mystery of real film and though I know Photoshop and digital, there is something like gardening when it comes to analog film. The evolution behind the lens does have me shooting more DSLR, but it doesn't take away my love for the slow process.

Kaalan Rashad Walker, KR is an emerging emcee and songwriter from Los Angeles, California. He also made 2018 his acting debut in the movie “Superfly”.

K.R's dynamic music career started in the small basement of his mom's apartment, in a small city located in Connecticut. despite the poverty, and the abandoned houses that surrounded the area, K.R's creative spirit began to soar. He completed over one hundred songs, and five albums. In 1999, When he wanted to record his first track in a studio, K.R met Producer Weston Nash through a relative that had a studio session booked However, he recorded one song called contact which was never released. .Six months later, K.R recorded a song with Lumidee that led to a deal with Harlem native "Puerto Rock" a Latin rapper who was famous for a television commercial and the owner of Bang Out Records. In 2004 , K.R was released from his recording contract with Bang Out Records due to undisclosed reasons. That did not deter the driven emcee. From 2004 - 2006 K.R was featured on over 20 songs with various signed artists and hosted over two Mix tapes across the country. He was also featured in Rolling stone Magazine For Recording the whatever you like remix with T.I and Ludacris. In 2006, K.R formed his own company, and signed to Gangsta Records. Industry insiders are comparing K.R to 50 cent because of his lyrical content, style and the fact that they share the passion of creating music that stands out. K.R is bigger than just music. His company Gangsta Records is going to change the world and people are already lining up to get behind him. his three latest singles are in stores now called (shes like a star ft Taio Cruz) (paradise) and (rainfall) all from the Street Smartz album that dropped in late 2008 and was published for the second time in 2009. the rapper states in quote 'Everyone wants to be a rapper now a days.the internet is flooded with millions of unsigned artists worldwide. YouTube has thousands of musicians who wants to be the next one. what separates me from all these people.well,it takes years of experience.it takes a person that's filled with ambition, and devotion to make it happen. it takes a person with knowledge to understand what the music industry wants. someone who can actually write a hit record,and make the whole world demand it. everyone wants to pursuit the goal of a platinum record.everyone wants to be famous, and known through their music. but, it takes more than being a rapper to do it' when K.R started making music,no one in his neighborhood was doing it. majority of them were into the streets. since the industry changed,and artist started selling records,they wanted to be a rapper as well.so what separates K.R from all these people. well,it takes a'lot of time to make an album,and distribute it to stores,it takes a person that's driven, to make it happen from the trunk of his car,to standing in front of record companies promoting by any means. it takes someone who can start his own record label if major labels aren't willing to sign him. to make it in this industry. it takes power,and determination to do it. the power of being an unsigned rap artist, who's determined to make something out of nothing. to create music freely under his own empire. recently the rapper started recording music with 50 cent and doing music videos as well.
