Midge Flinn Yost is an Emmy™ Award-winning Film and Video Producer, Director, and Editor in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. She has collaborated on more than 600 productions for broadcast, corporate, educational, government, live event and non-profit clients. Recent televised programs include the Emmy Award winning documentary “Building the Dream,” about the fundraising, design and construction efforts that went into the making of the MLK, Jr., Memorial that aired on PBS outlets nationwide, “Home of the Brave: The War of 1812 on the Chesapeake,” a historical documentary and travelogue chronicling the battles along the Chesapeake Bay for Maryland Public Television, and Alabama Public Television's “Alpha Phi Alpha: A Century of Leadership,” documenting the founding and legacy of the first intercollegiate fraternity for African-Americans. Midge spent a year behind the lens as cinematographer for “Cedar Lawn: Homecoming," a documentary that chronicled the complete restoration and history of one of George Washington’s family homes, including interviews with local and family historians and the adjacent thoroughbred horse farm. She shares her passion for storytelling with film through projects like the Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership's innovative learning program “Of the Student, By the Student, For the Student,”™ where she led workshops on creative filmmaking, camera techniques and editing for middle school students creating films about their connection to National Parks. She collaborated with the ITWD team at the Department of Veterans Affairs in developing their first 4-camera virtual studio streaming live e-learning programs through a custom portal with social interface. She has served as an instructor for the Patton Veterans Project "I Was There" filmmaking workshops, a unique program that teams filmmakers with soldiers being treated for PTS. She is currently producing and filming a documentary that explores the large landscape conservation areas in and around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, that impacts the health of the Chesapeake Bay. Midge is the Creative Director for O'Keefe Communications in Bethesda, MD. She serves as Executive Producer for multi-day live events that feature ultrawide screenscape projection and multimedia.
