Midwestern has always been and will always be a band of rotating musicians who come together for the cause. The music, once described as "porch music with a punch", is an evolution of country, garage, bluegrass, and folk. Jeff Jordan (formerly The Old States, Palatine Hill, The Beautiful Train Wrecks) pulls in friends and family members, usually one or two at a time, to play his southern ballads and two-step ditties. In some songs Jordan writes candidly about his experiences with getting older, other times the lyrics fictitiously wander off to another time or to another man's world. It's middle of the road western music. "Climb aboard if yer gonna, but this boxcar ain't got no doors!"...
