I have been interested in technology since I got my first (non-family) PC back in 2000. It was a Dell. It had anIntel Pentium 4 CPU and 512mb of RAM. I became infatuated with it and wanted to learn more. Learning more to me at that age meant I had to take it apart. Well long story short after taking it apart and trying to put it back together I forgot to plug some wires back in. Not know this I tried to turn it on to show my father. Well, when it didn't turn back on he looked at me and said "I'm not buying you another one, so you better figure it out". After rushing to Walden Books to buy "Computers for Dummies" I was able to boot my PC once again and from then on I have wanted a profession in the tech industry. Computers and the technology industry has advanced exponentially since then and I have tried to keep up with all of the hardware. It wasn't until around 2015 I started to want to know more about how applications and the ideas behind them were conceived and then developed. I decided to ditch Windows OS completely in 2019 and have been learning as much as I can about Free software and GNU/Linux as a whole. as well as everything in-between. I read Quincy's email every week and love everything that freecodecamp stands for. There should be more non-profit organization's that are centered around truly free learning . Knowledge should be free, not behind a $120,000 tuition payment. My goal is to obtain at least 1 freecodecamp certificate by the end of summer 2020, and at least 3 by the end on the year. Strictly during my lunch break and weekends. Thank you for creating such an amazing organization Quincy Larson. Freecodecamp, it allows ordinary people like me to continue their education on their own time. People who don't have the time (or money) to go back to school full time, while working full time and supporting a family.
