This application was then migrated from Microsoft Access to VB.NET/ASP.NET in 2006. ·         Developed a Windows/web-based application called Connection Monitor to document customer’s down-time issues with Internet Service Providers by sending pings to public hosts and through the VPN tunnel between stores. Failed ping attempts were then documented at the web site. This allowed employees of Activant to remotely determine the source of the internet connectivity issues and reduced the number of on site visits. This application was put in place in March 2006. In the first 90 day this application had saved the company thousands of labor hours for field service employees and thousands of dollars for overnight shipping for unnecessary replacement equipment. This application utilizes an SQL Server database for data access. ASP.NET is utilized on web client that is used to view ping results. This application is an n-tier client server application utilizing .NET remoting as the data transport to and from the web site and client. A windows client using VB.NET is used to generate the pings and update data on the web site hosting SQL Server. .NET Remoting is used for data transport between windows clients and the web site hosting SQL Server. ·         Developed PDA application providing easy access to customer information, Part Number look-up, and customer network configuration documentation. Employees can easily synchronize the PDA with the web site database. Application developed and put into use in 2004. This application uses Microsoft Access as the backend database. Web services are used for data transport. Visual Studio 2005 was used to create this application. This is a standalone application using Microsoft Access as the database. ·         Developed a Windows-based application used internationally called Race Manager to manage membership and driver statistics for online racing leagues.  Updates driver statistics in less than five minutes and copies about 200 html pages to their web site for league members to view.  League directors can do in minutes what once took hours. This application was created using Visual Studio 6. This is a standalone application using a Microsoft Access database. ·         Developed and marketed internationally, Race Inspector to detect cheating in Internet racing leagues.  Worldwide, league members use Race Inspector to start the game by gathering all the running computer processes and sending them to a web site via .NET remoting. League administrators can evaluate potential “cheat†processes running in the background and may then take action thus creating a level playing field for competitors and leagues. The client application is a windows-based VB.NET application.
