The famous German music critic Günter Oboschleissheimerlichendochberg referred to Objectivity as “the quintessential 1980’s power band.” A badge of honor that the band proudly wore pinned to the lapel of their slightly worn dress jackets. The band literally exploded onto the music scene with their debut album “Richie.” A gut-retching rock anthem about a troubled college student who is obsessed with a beagle named Dandy. The eclectic mixture of 3 string guitar, bass and Maggie the circus organ coupled with the infamous “monster chord melodic memory” made Objectivity the yard stick of 1980’s pop. Soon bands all over the world were copying their unique studio style know as “spontaneous composition” in which the band never rehearsed and switched instruments after each song. After the success of Richie the band returned to the studio and, after 3 grueling 20 minute sessions, came out with their second and final album “Ricardo Worrello;” a cerebral and introspective tour de force dealing with the issues of travel and unemployment. In the summer of 1985 Dandy the Beagle died and two days later Objectivity broke up. In the words of former Objectivity tunesmith Twostar Johnny, “After Dandy died we lost our way. I guess you could say that Dandy the Beagle was our Brian Epstein.”
