I've been around in the programming world for quite a while. I've just not been very visible. But then PHP programmers do tend to be the invisible type. Most of my work thusfar has been for in house proprietary systems designed for management control, particularly relating to financial aspects. These systems are strictly controlled by my clients and at best are only available on an intranet due to their nature. You will see why when you read my CV, particularly as it reflects my knowledge and understanding of financial matters. I have been using various programming languages, structured coding techniques and relational databases (such as SQL) for years. Little has changed except my desire to have my work more visible on the net hence my marketing now as a PHP/SQL programmer. My specific intent is to program the functionality of business sites to enable the client to make money. I do not wish to be involved in design work. I wish to partner a designer who has already created the site, but cannot write the code to make it work. I want to write that code. I also contract out work to Greg, who is the technical director of Propdata. His work can be viewed at www.propdata.co.za . We know what we are doing. As I stick to programming which is what I am good at, my work tends to be invisible. I do not do that much design work at all. I sometimes charge R300 ph and sometimes I charge for an overall project depending on the size of the client and the expected return on investing in the site. Sometimes it works in their favour and sometimes it doesn't. You see I bring a whole lot more to the table than just coding. I also bring years of business sense and I bring financial ability. Try requesting any other PHP coder in the country to program a diminishing interest table based on a capital amount, a monthly payment, a fluctuating interest rate, and early lump sum payments, and see what reaction you get!!!
