[b]Last profile update: 8 January 2014[/b] I am a Singaporean boardgamer who is open to trying all types of board games. My gateway game was Shadows over Camelot, and it drew me into the world of boardgaming with its intriguing cooperative gameplay mechanic. Since then, my travels down the road of hobby gaming have ranged from Eurogames and Ameritrash to Wargaming. I am loving wargaming because of the experience and stories that these games bring and tell. Among my favourite wargames are [thing=42673][/thing], [thing=127518][/thing] and [thing=115746][/thing]. Currently, I am into strategic monster wargaming and very much into playing [thing=7614][/thing], solo or otherwise! I prefer my games to have a luck-strategy balance of about 20%-80%. I find that this ratio provides a good balance since luck prevents players from implementing their dominant strategies all the time, and yet there is room for strategies to be formed successfully to a degree. Despite this preference, I like games with loads of cards or dice because I really like these components (especially dice). [b]*Update on 5 February 2013: Given the way BGG categorizes ratings with decimal points (e.g. a rating of 9.5 is treated the same as 10 for display purposes, I have modified my ratings accordingly to align them with the system)[/b] [b]Rankings (and their implications):[/b] 9.1 to 10 - Excellent game. I will definitely suggest this game to play if I can. I will always play this game whenever it is pulled out. 8.1 to 9.0 - A close second to games that are rated "10". I thoroughly enjoy playing this game and will almost always play it whenever I can. 7.1 to 8.0 - Extremely great game. Mostly enjoyable to play and I would fancy playing it with any group. 6.1 to 7.0 - Game contains interesting mechanic(s)/theme which arouses my interest. Gameplay is assuredly enjoyable, though there is something lacking which could make gameplay slightly more fun. 5.1 to 6.0 - Above-average game. Mechanics are interesting but I get bored after a while. 4.1 to 5.0 - Average game. Would probably get a second look on days when I am indecisive. 3.1 to 4.0 - Ho-hum. 2.1 to 3.0 - Drab game. I would rather let the game sit at the back of the shelf and collect dust, than play it. 1.1 to 2.0 - Very drab game. I would rather use the game's bits for other reasons (card-shaped coasters, anyone?) 1 - Extremely drab game. I wish I had never laid eyes on it...honestly. N/A - Games I have purchased but not yet tried. 0.75/0.5/0.25 - Reflects my inclination towards the specific rating limits.
