SKEETERS is a fully adjustable skateboard footing that provides instant graduation in performance; helping any beginner feel like a pro! For skaters of all experience levels, it is a device designed to support a rider’s feet on the board so that they can perfect the skills required for nearly all categories of skateboarding tricks, including rails, bowls, ramps, boxes, carving and ollies. Designed using a 3D CAD software called CATIA and CREO Pro E, laser cutting it out of two 16-gauge stainless steel plates and bending them into shape with a break, SKEETERS are built with a plastic injection mold and spring plungers connecting the two stainless steel brackets for the front and back of the board. How it works SKEETERS are fully adjustable with various uses of the brackets and two sets of spring plunger pins that lock into place and pull out for adjustments. This allows the rider to adjust it to his or her ride style and shoe style. On the front foot-mounting bracket, there are several slotted mounting holes for a horizontal rotational adjustment of about 60 degrees. SKEETERS can also be adjusted vertically, allowing for variance in the foot’s desired angle, shape and size. Riders simply have to keep a wide stance with their feet to grip and jump; or use that same stance to lean into the back foot while lifting the front and then lifting the back along with it to rise. There is an optional safety break away feature by removing the center bolt. Suitable for all ages who can successfully stand on a skateboard with balance, the level of the user experience can vary from 1-10. The essential requirement is stability; the rider will need to be able to pump or push in a forward motion while staying on the board. Once the rider has thoroughly practiced jumping, the ‘Ollie trainer’ option allows a rider to remove the back bracket so that the foot can slide to complete the Ollie motion while supported by the front skeeter. Bio Daniel Wendelschafer is the founder, designer and engineer behind SKEETERS and the Manager of Operations at Zodiac Aerospace. Born in Portland, Oregon, Daniel grew up in Arizona where he excelled in sports like football, baseball and wrestling. However, Daniel’s real passions were wake boarding, skateboards and rollerblading. After studying 3D Solid Design in college, he met the love of his life, started a family, and focused on his career as a Manufacturing Engineer. During this time, Daniel shared his passion for water sports and skateboarding with his growing family and competed professionally in wakeboarding tournaments for several years. Daniel was skating and surfing every chance he got. He would find massive hills for skating and, on some of the trickier ones, had to bail off his board to catch a curb, as he couldn’t Ollie. Then it hit him. “What if I could jump and not worry about the board leaving my feet, like when I wakeboard?” After some patenting research that revealed a void in the marketplace for anything like such a device, and his considered design of proven successful prototypes, SKEETERS was born.
