Hey there, Skylight here. Glad to see you on my profile. I planned a revamp of my bio for more than a year, but considering the current state of my life, it would be unrealistic to keep saying it's WIP. So for now, I'll keep it simple (and eventually, do the revamp someday, but that day is far from now). I'm a pass player since I started playing this game, doing hard maps and hard skillsets is something fun for me. I don't really like going under 5* without mods. I cannot farm for shit and my skill doesn't seem to evolve soooo screw pp I guess... Outside of that, I'm a mapper since four years. I barely release anything because I hate releasing unfinished work as it would be frustrating for the player (which is ironic, because I stuggle to get stuff finished, especially recently). My mapping style is simple, farmy but not aimslop as I still want to represent the music (sotarks 2018 style to give you an example). I planned to try other styles (tech, old and alt mostly) but I didn't really did anything outside of drafts. For the embarrassing part, I love doing GDs and mods for other players. But since I struggle to get stuff finished, I often take an unacceptable amount of time to fulfill others' requests because giving bad quality work would be disrespectful for the requester. It then led me to leaving a lot of people without anything they asked for, and I'm deeply sorry for that. I still want to help, but I don't want to waste anyone's time so I wouldn't recommend you to ask anything even though I won't say no. I'm an autistic ADHD boy who's quite shy and inexperienced (and bad) when it comes to socializing since I've spent most of my childhood and teenage years alone, and it sort of remained the same in this game. So, I haven't got the courage (and felt the need) to ask for help and bond, but it doesn't mean that talking with people is torturous, I kind of like it. Which means that if you want to talk to me about anything, my DMs are open and I'll try to answer you quickly (I might take a moment if my game is open in background though). And if you added me as a friend, PLEAAASE tell me and I'll add you back. I feel bad when someone adds me and I can't reciprocate :( or use Mutualify like I do, so then I will know if you add me !! Four entire years that I've been mapping. I'm stagnating at every aspect of the game, in my skill and in my mapping. I'm close to ranked... but I cannot finish shit. Nothing. My mental state is completely abysmal at the moment and I don't know if I'll ever pursue my ranked goal. These times, I'm more focused on Valorant currently than anything else (i'm still low elo, username : SkylightEncore#5699) and I'm really committed to be good at this game. I'm really too slow to finish any requests even with the best of my willpower. Contributing to even my basic needs keeps being halted by sidetrack, brain fog and sadness. I was supposed to start doing it after my first ranked map, but considering that I'm still bad at mapping after three years, if I don't start it now, I will never do it. Select a category : Hey, I'm Skylight, a French mapper thriving in the mapping community for three years and a half ! I'm 18 years old and I, despite the fact that I'm a grown-up boy, still struggle a lot socially. My social skills are below ground and the only relationships I ever formed broke quickly. I may seem closed, but I'm not ! I'm shy and neurodivergent, so approaching other players is hard for me, but not if they approach me first. So... take your chance ! I play this game... for everything in this game, I'll say. Everything in this game knows how to make me vibe, and since I started playing actively in July 2021, I fell in love with this game, and it's still the case to this day as it's the game I play the most without any doubt. My mapping journey has been a lonely journey overall. With one year spent completely solo, the next one somewhere that wasn't my place, and the next one evolving quite quickly. My mapping skills are still evolving in a good way, unfortunately, not in a visible way since I only upload finished maps... I don't know much about who really the mappers are, but I admire their work, and some can make me enjoy a map without even playing it. I don't go on X, where dramas goes on and mappers show their real face probably... Hey, don't judge me, I want to believe every mapper here is nice... Knowing and enjoying what you do is extremely important if you want to create something good. When mapping is a happy thing, your creations become awesome things. The toughest battles are not the longest or the most intense ones, but the ones where you fight for the wrong reasons. So, map for fun and don't be an artist for clout, money or attention. It's the best way to succeed. You, you might be scared of DMing other mappers, (shyness, being introvert...) and I know how it feels because it is also my case. During these three years of mapping, I've done at least 75% of those 3 years alone. I don't want this to be your case. Feel free and don't even hesitate to DM me about anything. My average DMs received every day is 0, and my phone never rings (it's a way of saying that I don't really exist to anyone except a few ppl but they are outside of osu!), so if I'm online (in game, I might be AFK or just with an osu tab open), I will answer you quickly. I hope it will stay like this forever, in my current state of doo-doo tier mapper or maybe (and I hope so), when I'll join the BNG. I absolutely do not know how to mod. If you want to mentor me, it would be a pleasure for me to be your mentee. You can still try, it can train me. I'm open for GDs, but don't except quick and pretty results. I'll do my best, though. (My queue is ALWAYS open, but depending on the number of requests I have and the status of my life, your request might take a longer time to be completed.) GD Policy Doing something for somebody is a motivation factor to me. Shoot your shot, I would be happy to serve you ^^ However, I might delay your request if I'm in a bad period or if I feel like I will take too much time. If I don't like the song, I might decline too. If I take too much time despite your request being accepted, poke me and ask me for updates. Just don't be mad at me, I'm a forgetful boy... Oh, and if you have a hitsounder for your map, let me know. Since I have the habit to hitsound my maps while making them (I always did that), my GDs will be bundled with hitsounds. I prefer that you let my hitsounds, however if you or the hitsounder really insist on applying the hitsounds or if I like the final hitsounds, I'll be fine with having my hitsounds replaced. Preferences Extreme > Extra > Expert > Insane > *Normal > *Easy > *Hard *watch out if you ask for these, I'm still learning how to do them... And make sure to add these tags : skylight, skylightlefou, rainbowskylight Beginner = 0* - 0.99* Easy = 1* - 1.99* Normal = 2* - 2.99* Advanced = 2.50* - 3.49* Hard = 3 - 3.60* Light Insane = 3.60 - 4.29* *Insane = 4 - 4.99* Expert = 5 - 5.39* Extra = 5.40 - 5.99* Extreme = 6 - 6.99* Miscellaneous : Another = Can be used as a filler diff for maps from 4 to 7*. Finale = (can be used for topdiff over 8*) *If it's an old-styled Insane, going over 4.99* is allowed. For overlapping ranges like Light Insane and Insane or Advanced and Hard, if there's only one diff in the overlapping range, select the latter.
