As a person; born to a young mother, somewhat raised by my grandparents, surrounded by books, who moved often, and then went on to raise their own children, who raised the bar on me, I am filled with experiences and stories. Before the age of five, my grandfather was the one who shaped me. He was looking for his own answers. He would take me fishing and impart wisdom. Later, in life, he paid for and chaufered me to hockey. My grandparents also gave me a place to live while I finished school and got through college. I was raised old-school; morality, integrity, women and children first, save your money, be in service to others… There was also a time, when I raised my own children. I had moved, from Halifax to Toronto, hoping to start a family where I could give the best of everything. These children had, paid for, activities on a daily basis. There was gymnastics, soccer, hockey, ballet, swimming, kickboxing, piano lessons, robotics, Barbizon… By the time my kids were in high school, they were raising the bar on me. My son; graduated with honours, including over 100% in grade 12 calculus, and went on to graduate Mechatronics Engineering at Waterloo University. He was a gifted athlete, musician, and student. My daughter, who also graduated high school with honours, was the president of Student Council and went on to a career as a self-employed hairstylist. They took accountability to a whole new level. And, they did things for the right reasons. This was accomplished even though I had congenital spondylolisthesis with in situ articulation at the age of 30. Even though I went blind and was dying, at age 37, I still coached soccer, and managed a hockey team, while I was waiting for back surgery. “An unexamined life is hardly worth living.” Socrates

It is (or was, at least -- I haven't looked since I left) a pretty good school; consistently ranked near the top 5% of public schools nationally. I had a lot of students who were exceptional but most of my students were regular kids with no particular aptitude for programming. I taught over 2000 students.
