Willy Sanjuan, one of the DJS & Producers behind of TIJUANA’S “Groove is in the Air” on BEDROCK Records UK is also producer for CATCH 22 Recordings in New York, Royal Drums & Chicayork in Paris and Juicy Music & Filtered Records in Miami. Under the moniker of MOLACACHO he’s also remixing and producing with his friend Juan Magan. Tracks like “Welcome to the Jungle” by E-Smoove or “Can’t Fake the Feeling” by Apple Funk have been reworked to the limits by this Barcelona based producer. His latest work under the MOLACACHO moniker has been licensed by FLUENTIAL RECORDS (a sub label of DEFECTED RECORDS). Willy Sanjuan has become one of the most respected DJs in Spain, heading the nominations for “Best House DJ of Spain” of DEEJAYMAGS 2001, the most prestigious awards in dance music in Spain. Willy Sanjuan is also editor for DEEJAY The Official Spanish Dance Magazine, doing all the reviews of the new house tracks released in the country. He also is the official house DJ for the DEEJAY-MEETINGS, the only official parties of DEEJAY Magazine all around Spain In 2001, Willy has started a new radio mixshow on BLACK RAC 105 FM. The show is called “HOUSE KINGDOM” and it’s broadcasted every friday from 12-2 am. Prime time on Friday for a DJ that deserves it. Two hours of mixshow with information on the tracks every thirty minutes. Due to Willy’s international relations a lot of BIG DJ’s has already been featured on the show. Mixshows recorded exclusively for House Kingdom by the likes of DJ DISCIPLE, ATFC, RHYTHM MASTERS, SEAMUS HAJI, ROBBIE RIVERA or EDDIE AMADOR. The show is headed to be the number one mixshow of this year. Willy is frequently touring Spain, stomping all the dance floors in places like Canary Islands, Bilbao, Madrid or Ibiza where he have played at Privilege & Amnesia, this last one for closing the Millenium Party on NYE in 1999. He has also found some time to go DJ in Switzerland as well as Monaco at the infamous Stars n’ Bars, USA or BARBADOS in the Caribbean Sea. Having played gigs in San Francisco last year at EVOLUTION @ Space 550 and heading the line up in the main room with Mustafa (Yellorange) & Leon Roberts (King Unique’s brother) was another gorgeous experience for Willy Sanjuan. Ten days touring San Francisco, San Jose & Santa Clara and even playing several sets at LIVEDJS.COM. Willy has been also playing in Los Angeles in November 2001 doing his main appearance at CLUB FUCK (MOVE) @ LA Grand Club. He’s also played DIVA @ QC’S 20/20 Club and GROOVERADIO.COM because of the success of his TIJUANA Record. During the summer of 2001 Willy started a night on Thursdays at TORRES DE AVILA, his former residency. SCREAM, club founded with his partner Olivier G. featured some djs from the West Coast such as Jay Zimmerman (Red Melon Recordings) or PETER BLACK from Parisonic. A lot of six hours sets has been offered by Willy on that night. TORRES DE AVILA, the club that experimented the growing up of Willy Sanjuan has held the best line ups in Spain as well as the only DEFECTED RECORDS (UK) Spanish monthly residency (2nd Saturday of every month) with talents such as Full Intention, ATFC, John Julius Knight, Warren Clarke, Guy Williams, Paul Farris or Seamus Haji. Willy Sanjuan has recently left Torres de Avila, getting more concentration on production for his upcoming MOLACACHO RECORDS label and DJ across the world. Willy’s last DJ experience has been the gorgeous island of BARBADOS in the Caribbean (West Indies). He was required to start along with Peter Black from L.A., DJ Scratch from Canada & Larrier from UK the first WINTER SEASON NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL. Playing in that country has been one of the most exotic experiences Willy has ever had in his life. Near future plans for Willy are promoting the two first releases on MOLACACHO RECORDS and keep on playing and giving people a chance to be happy. The future is here !
