It is based on a poem called "to the female called woman" written by Chrisa Efthimiou. The film was shot in Thessaloniki (Greece) along the city's coastline in a period of three days. The main theme of the short is the poem itself.A reference to the woman, with allegorical meaning and a lot of symbolism, that is being presented through the central hero, a young girl, a woman, frugally and without exaggerations. What the director is trying to stress out is the poem as an entity, that takes flesh and bones through the narration of a young woman. The space around is lost in the background , it is not important , without substance and in the center of all stands the narration. The words, the concerns, the dreams and hopes , all indelible , all everlasting in time. ---------- Το "a female called a woman" είναι μια ταινία μικρού μήκους που αναφέρεται στην γυναικεία φύση. Η ιστορία είναι εμπνευσμένη από το ποίημα με τίτλο "to the female called woman" το οποίο γράφτηκε πρίν κάποια χρόνια από μια ταλαντούχα νέα γυναίκα και πολύ καλή μου φίλη , με ιδιαίτερο τρόπο γραφής. Το φιλμάκι γυρίστηκε στην Θεσσαλονίκη και συγκεκριμένα στην Νέα Παραλία , κατά την διάρκεια τριών ημερών.Το κεντρικό θέμα της ιστορίας είναι το ίδιο το ποίημα. Μια ιδιαίτερη αναφορά στη γυναίκα , με αλληγορική σημασία και πολλούς συμβολισμούς , που ακούγεται από τα χείλη της κεντρικής ηρωϊδας, μιας νεαρής κοπέλας , μιας γυναίκας , λιτά και χωρίς υπερβολές. Αυτό που θέλει να τονίσει ο σκηνοθέτης είναι το ποίημα σαν οντότητα , που πέρνει σάρκα και οστά μέσα από την αφήγηση μιας νεαρής γυναίκας. Ο χώρος γύρω χάνεται , είναι άνευ ουσίας και το κέντρο όλων είναι η αφήγηση. Οι λέξεις , τα λόγια που εκφράζουν ανησυχίες , όνειρα και έννοιες ανεξύτηλες στο χρόνο. -------
