How does username search work?
Enter a username and Fingerprint checks it against 500+ platforms in real time. Each platform is queried directly and independently, so matches stream to your screen the instant they resolve. Nothing is cached or pre-indexed, and a typical search finishes in seconds.
Is this the same as a reverse username search?
Yes. Reverse username search, username lookup and handle search all describe the same thing: starting from a username and finding the public accounts registered under it. Fingerprint runs that lookup live across 500+ platforms at once.
What platforms does it cover?
Over 500, spanning social media, developer tools, gaming, creative portfolios, writing platforms, music, link-in-bio pages, marketplaces, forums, crypto and more. New platforms are added regularly.
Does a match mean it's the same person?
Not on its own. A username match means that exact handle exists on a platform, it doesn’t guarantee the accounts belong to the same person. Fingerprint returns the full profile behind each hit, and you can cross-reference bios, avatars, locations and linked accounts to judge how strongly they correlate.
Do I get the whole profile or just a link?
The whole profile. Fingerprint extracts every field a platform exposes, display name, bio, avatar and banner, follower counts, join date, location, verification status and more, and renders it inline so you can review it without leaving the results.
Is username search free?
Yes. The free plan includes username search across all 500+ platforms with real-time streaming, full search history, and result exports. Paid plans with higher rate limits and API access are coming soon.
Is it legal?
Fingerprint only surfaces publicly available information, and does not access private accounts, breach systems, or hack. You’re expected to use results lawfully and in line with our Terms of Service.
Can I remove myself from results?
For your email address, use the instant email opt-out. For anything else, submit a data removal request. Because Fingerprint only reflects public profiles from third-party platforms, removing an account there also removes it from search.
Can I search by email or name instead?
